Unpleasant Symptoms? Talk to Our Atlanta Vein Specialist

Atlanta Vein Specialist

Spider veins and varicose veins are surface irregularities that show up as colorful patterns on your skin. While spider veins typically only cause cosmetic symptoms, varicose veins can cause both embarrassment as well as physical symptoms of discomfort when left untreated. If you are experiencing unpleasant symptoms from your visible veins, ask our Atlanta vein specialist whether one of our various treatments may be right for you.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is called the gold standard of vein treatments. It can be used on a wide variety of problem veins from medium to large spider veins to small to moderately-sized varicose veins. This is a minimally-invasive treatment that requires an injection into the problem vein. Once our Atlanta vein specialist is sure that the correct location has been identified, the vein is filled with a special solution that irritates the walls of the vein, causing it to close and eventually die.

Patients may need two sclerotherapy treatments for complete results. To ensure that we provide the most accurate treatment, our vein specialist will often use ultrasound guidance to ensure precision.

Endovenous Laser Ablation

Another minimally-invasive treatment, endovenous laser ablation makes use of the ease of a laser-driven treatment while combining it with the accuracy of an intravenous treatment. While lasers used on the surface of the skin can be effective for very small spider veins, you will see the best results for medium-sized veins with an endovenous treatment.

Phlebectomy

Typically called ambulatory phlebectomy, this procedure is best when used on very large varicose veins that are too large to be treated effectively with sclerotherapy alone. This is a minimally-invasive procedure, during which our Atlanta vein specialist will be able to access the large problem vein in order to remove it.
