Skilled leading edge vein care to help you achieve healthy, happy legs. Let us help you feel and look your best!
Your veins play an integral part of your health, but most people don’t think about them until they are visible in the form of spider veins or varicose veins. However, you may experience symptoms such as aching, swelling, leg cramps and restlessness without realizing they are due to a vein disorder. In fact, up to a third of patients with vein disease have no visible varicose veins. If your leg complain is due to venous insufficiency, then correction of the underlying problem can lead to relief and help you live a full and active life.
At Premier Dermatology, Dr. Brent Taylor can provide you with a consultation and treatment for your vein condition, so that you can get back to enjoying your legs and where they take you!
Vein care has come a long way! Vein stripping is practically a treatment of the past. Surgery is now rarely required, and most vein problems can be treated with minimally invasive techniques. Vein treatment options vary depending on your specific concerns and problems.
Management of vein conditions has never been easier.
Treatments are typically quick and painless, without a need for anesthesia, hospitalization, or prolonged downtown. Most evaluations and treatments are covered by insurance.
Thanks to advancements in imaging, optimal treatments now include:
- Visually Guided Sclerotherapy – A minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment option for spider veins and telangiectasias involving the injection of a solution into the veins causing collapse. The body absorbs the sclerosed veins and the circulation improves because the work of carrying the blood is shifted to nearby healthy vessels.
- Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy – Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy is used to treat large varicose veins that may not be seen with the naked eye. Ultrasound is a painless technique that allows the physician to see veins that cannot be seen at the surface of the skin.
- Endovenous Laser Ablation – Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) is a minimally invasive ultrasound technique used for treating varicose veins and veins with reflux – blood traveling the wrong direction. EVA uses laser energy to close the diseased vein so that blood is rerouted into healthy veins.
- Phlebectomy – Phlebectomy is typically performed for particularly large veins or veins over a bony surface such as veins on the ankle. This treatment most often takes place after all other therapies are complete and only if veins ultimately requiring phlebectomy remain. During phlebectomy, a small incision is made to remove a vein instead of treating it with a sclerosing agent.

Why choose us?
Choosing a vascular doctor is challenging because physicians’ levels of training in venous disease vary widely. Different specialties bring different areas of expertise to the table, with surgeons often more experienced in phlebectomy and dermatologists in sclerotherapy. Education and training in vein care have been a focal point of Dr. Taylor’s education and career. At Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, Dr. Taylor was trained by a number of experts in different fields and brings the best in vein care to one practice. Under the direction of renowned cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Leland Housman and laser and cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Vic Ross, Dr. Taylor received extensive formal training in endovenous laser ablation, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, phlebectomy, cosmetic sclerotherapy, and laser treatment options. In fact, Scripps is one of only a few institutions in the country offering a fellowship where physicians graduate with enough venous experience to sit for the phlebology boards upon graduation. Dr. Taylor sat for and passed these boards.
